Student Life at MAIA

On October 13th, a dozen of our high school students attended the Anthony Munoz Foundation Youth Leadership Seminar in October.

Details of the event

Over 1,300 students from high schools across the Tri-State joined at Xavier University's Cintas Center for a day of leadership development. Here, guest speakers shared their personal experiences and insight, students developed ideas about how they can positively impact their community through a "Service Challenge" and schools walked away with empowered leaders.

Service Challenge

Youth Leadership Seminar urges students who attended the event to take the knowledge and skills they learned and apply them in their own community. Students brainstorm and develop service project ideas at the event based on the needs in their community. They then execute their ideas from October-May in hopes of winning our Service Challenge!

MAIA students chose to do a Sock Drive for the homeless population in connection with their Shantytown experience to bring awareness to the issue of homelessness.

The students have decided to partner with Bethany House Services (an agency that provides shelter to women and families).
